Recently, Professor Xiuqiang Li of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics received an official notification from the International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM) that, following a rigorous evaluation by the Expert Committee, he has been elected a Lifetime Fellow of IAAM in recognition of his outstanding contributions to materials research and innovation.
IAAM is a global non-profit scientific organisation dedicated to advancing materials science, engineering and technology through research, innovation and international collaboration. It is accredited to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) as a civil society observer organisation within the scientific and technological community. Each year, IAAM elects a limited number of distinguished scientists from each major discipline; to date, it has recognised more than 4,500 researchers from over 90 countries, underscoring the global standing and scientific rigour of its awards and recognition programme.
Professor Li has long been engaged in photothermal research, focusing on national strategic needs and emphasising the integration of fundamental research with engineering applications. His team stated that they will take this honour as an opportunity to continue deepening their expertise, enhance collaborative innovation with industry, and promote the generation of more outcomes that contribute to scientific progress and industrial development.
